Working Practices & Professional Terms
My practice is informed by neurodivergent and disability-aware working rhythms, including the need for flexibility in energy, communication, and processing time. This means my working structure may not always follow conventional time-blocked assumptions of productivity.
My approach is also informed by the concept of “crip time”, recognising that disabled and neurodivergent work may not align with linear or standardised productivity frameworks, and that time, processing, and output may require different pacing structures.
To maintain clarity, sustainability, and fairness, my services are structured as follows:
Mentoring sessions are 50 minutes in duration, with brief written follow-up notes provided (typically 3–5 bullet points summarising key themes or actions).
Any work beyond this (including extended written reports, documentation, coordination, or email-based labour) is treated as administrative work and charged separately.
Consultancy, advisory, facilitation, and project support are charged on an hourly basis, agreed in advance depending on scope.
Who do I work with?
I support CEOs, Chairs, founders, artists, and leadership teams within arts organisations, charities, CICs, and cultural projects through mentoring, facilitation, strategic support, and advisory work. I may also facilitate introductions to partners, collaborators, and organisations where appropriate.
My practice is informed by recognised industry benchmarks, including rates published by organisations such as Artists’ Union England, a-n The Artists Information Company and the Musicians’ Union.
As a self-employed practitioner, my rates reflect the full costs of sustaining independent practice. This includes time, labour, professional development, Continuing Professional Development (CPD), supervision, and the broader costs associated with maintaining a professional service. These are absorbed within my rates rather than charged as separate items.
My Rates
My standard rates are:
£40 per hour for administrative and coordination work
£50 per hour for letters and phone calls.
£80 per hour for meetings, attendance at meetings, and live facilitation
Day and hourly rates for mentoring, consultancy, and project work are agreed in advance depending on scope
I do not offer free or unpaid consultancy, labour, or professional services. All work is chargeable unless explicitly agreed otherwise in writing in advance. This is due to the costs of sustaining independent practice, professional commitments, and the time and labour involved in delivering services.
I maintain ongoing professional development through approximately 150 hours of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) annually. I also engage in professional supervision and independent mentoring to support reflective practice and maintain high standards of work. I am registered with relevant professional bodies within my field.
This framework ensures clarity, accountability, and sustainability in all professional engagements.
